Breaking News: Trump's Acquittal

I broke the news of the former president's acquittal in the U.S. Senate on @NBCNews' Instagram. I began creating the graphic in "Template Farm" as senators' votes were counted, working alongside a social editor to proof the copy. I uploaded the image, added the caption in NBC News style, attached a link with a tracking code and posted the graphic through "Later" on deadline.

Graphics were created in both 1080x1080 and 1080x1920, to be uploaded as a post and an Instagram story.

Clipping Live Feeds: Tragedy in Texas

America was watching Texas in February after a winter storm caused power outages, a food shortage and a water crisis. On Feb. 20, I was managing the MSNBC Facebook and Twitter pages. I cut this video clip from MSNBC's live feed in "Wildmoka," wrote the body copy and published it to both platforms.

I modified the copy for Twitter to fit within the 280 character limit. I have clipped, uploaded and captioned several videos for Facebook and Twitter.

Tweeting the Headlines

I have written and posted well over 100+ tweets on NBC News' social media: @NBCNews, @MSNBC, @NBCPolitics and @NBCNewsWorld. It was my responsibility to understand each story, write body copy and schedule each tweet in "Social Flow." I utilized news judgment, privatizing breaking news first, and made sure content was posted approximately every 15 minutes.

#NBCNewsThreads

I drafted and posted #NBCNewsThreads for @NBCNews in "Tweet Deck" for more in-depth and investigative pieces, posting every few minutes with bite-size information to tell each story.

Check out my thread on a Latino neighborhood in Chicago pushing back against a proposed scrap metal plant.

Publishing Powerful Pictures

I have uploaded 70 posts to the @NBCNews Instagram, providing a brief look at world news by consolidating 20 paragraph stories into roughly three sentences. I was concise, purely prioritizing new information.

When photos caught my eye, I would pitch them to our social media team, then begin writing copy. I always provided photo attribution and linked back to nbcnews.com when necessary.

@BradyTalbert

The coverage continues over on my personal social media accounts, as I break down the news and tease what viewers can expect on broadcast. I'm always snapping photos, writing informative tweets, sharing updates from government officials and pushing news content.
